A new study shows health benefits of

walking for 15 minutes after every meal.

Researchers at the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services studying older adults with pre-diabetes found that 15 minutes of moderate walking after every meal curbed blood sugar spikes.

The study, published in the June issue of Diabetes Care, found that three short walks each day after meals were as effective at reducing blood sugar over 24 hours as a single 45-minute walk at the same moderate pace.

Currently, almost 26 million children and adults (8.3% of the population) in the USA have diabetes, and about 79 million Americans have pre-diabetes.
